Brokenwood Wines is one of Australia's most reputable premium wine labels and a must-visit while you're in the Hunter Valley. Consistently listed as a five-star winery, Brokenwood is home to the famous Graveyard Vineyard Shiraz, the highly acclaimed ILR Reserve Semillon, and the popular Cricket Pitch Range.

Designed by Sydney-based architecture design company Villa + Villa, Brokenwood's stunning new Cellar Door is the largest in the Hunter Valley wine region. Tastings are conducted in a large room in circular tasting 'pods' or in one of two private members tasting rooms.

The complex boasts an expansive outdoor terrace that offers stunning views and a wine museum that overlooks their working barrel hall and a lounge area.

Brokenwood also offers bespoke wine and food tasting experiences which includes an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of their winery and Barrel Hall.

For a more relaxed dining experience, why not try the Cru Bar and Pantry which is open seven days for lunch and Friday to Monday for breakfast. Premium and iconic Brokenwood wines are available at both venues, including an Enomatic self-service dispenser at the Cru Bar + Pantry that serves rare wines not ordinarily available for tasting at the Cellar Door.

Brokenwood is one of the best fine dining places in all of the Hunter Valley, it provides a wide and broad menu which is absolutely delicious. Their staff is 10/10, they are very kind and can answer any desired questions related to the food or wine. The food paired perfectly with the wine and drinks, it was a match made in heaven. The food really enhanced the deep flavours of the wine and made it enjoyable. They also have a very interesting kids menu which can accomodate their allergies. I am most DEFINITELY coming back here next time we are in the Hunter. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. The atmosphere is wonderful as well.

Great tasting of wines today. Friendly welcoming staff. Fabulous venue and atmosphere. Had the hogs head cheese platter and it was exceptional! Walked out with a few cases. Highly recommend. Will be back!

Arrived early for a tasting, was told to wait as they were not ready which is understandable, but still wasn't ready 10-15 minutes after the booking. Little to no engagement from the member assisting us with the tasting choosing to avoid our group in favour of the group we shared the experience with. We made enquiries about the food tasting menu to compliment the wine, but was informed we can't eat the food whilst tasting the wine? Then what's the point? Essentially they are more focused and driven about the "free" membership and commercial approach to the whole experience and have no regard for patrons or the tasting experience itself.

The wines are very good quality and the tasting area is quite beautiful.
The tasting fee is also offset against any purchase which is good.

The day we went they seemed understaffed, staff were friendly but rushing around at times which impacted the experience.

We would have eaten at the attached Cru, but my partner is vegetarian and they didn't have many options for her.

Oliver created a fantastic experience and knew just how to connect with each customer despite multiple groups. That man needs some internal recognition - whatever you have, he deserves it
