For the first time, visitors to the Hunter Valley will be able to taste the Trans-Tasman ventures of critically acclaimed winemaker PJ Charteris from a single location, with the opening of Charteris Wine Room in Pokolbin.

Charteris Wine Room is situated in the heart of Pokolbin, at Peppers Creek Village. Chrissi and PJ chose the Pokolbin location largely because the small, yet close-knit community has been their home for 20 years. "This building was part of the original winery at Peppers Creek, we love that it's also part of the history of the Hunter," adds PJ.

In the relaxed setting, guests are offered three tasting experiences from the full Charteris range. They might also choose to spend some extra time in Peppers Creek Village, where there are several specialty stores and cellar doors, as well as Cafe Enzo, where a Euro-inspired menu is created using local, seasonal produce.

Hands down one of the best cellar doors in Hunter Valley.
The Chardonnays and Pinots are exceptional plus PJ and Chrissi provide such an incredible experience at their cellar door. They're a go-to recommendation whenever someone asks me where to visit in the valley.

An absolutely wonderful experience at Charteris wines in the Hunter Valley today. It is an amazing, new modern cellar door matched with outstanding service and overall wine knowledge from Chrissi.
The wines speak volumes for themselves and are up there with the best wines we have ever tried!
This place is a must visit on your next Hunter trip !

I rarely write reviews online, but I was so impressed with both the wine and the service at the Charteris stall at Pino Palooza last night that I just had to share. Their wine is just delicious and the service was informative and engaging. It was the standout for me and I am so excited to have found this amazing winery.

Extremely poor customer service at wine tasting event. After addressing the poor service with their representative, they had me and my party removed from the event. Appalling scenario - wouldn't care if the wine was amazing, I would not even consider them.

A must do in the Hunter Valley. This was our favourite tasting session we did whilst visiting. Beautiful tasting room and amazing wines. We did the tasting with PJ who is passionate and informative, he really made it a special experience for us.
