Wirra Wirra Vineyards

Wirra Wirra Vineyards

255 Strout Rd, McLaren Vale SA 5171

As its aboriginal name infers, Wirra Wirra is nestled "amongst the gums" in McLaren Vale, South Australia - a picturesque ironstone winery with over 100 years of history.

From the call of the towering Angelus bell atop the winery, to the massive timber fence known as "Woodhenge", Wirra Wirra offers a unique and memorable winery experience.

Best known for its famous red "Church Block" blend, winemaker Paul Smith and his team deliver rich, textured McLaren Vale reds and stunning cool climate whites from the Adelaide Hills.

Wirra Wirra offers visitors a multitude of experiences, from its award winning Cellar Door where wine flights are available for tasting, to Harry's Deli, a providore style café that mixes the very best of South Australian produce with Wirra Wirra's exceptional wine list, plus a selection of five behind the scenes experiences that allow visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the historic old cellars at Wirra Wirra.

With all this on offer it's no wonder that Wirra Wirra Vineyards has been selected as a James Halliday 5 Star winery and has been awarded Star Cellar Door by Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine.

Fantastic winery! We visited today and went to Harry's Deli for some lunch. Was a beautiful space and really delicious food, both were large servings which was nice. The paired red and rose wines were delightful! Best of all, it was dog friendly and we were able to sit in their enclosed courtyard with our doggo! Highly recommend for a bite to eat.

Dog friendly which was lovely and good service from one staff member. (Long coloured hair - sorry we didn't get your name). Wine was good but I wouldn't pay the price for the expensive ones... Thought they were well over priced.
Really nice venue though with a warm fire.
Other staff member wasn't particularly welcoming or personable.

Great day! Great food and plenty of it! Everyone was happy with the food, the venue, the wine, the coffee, the efficiency of staff and the great way of ordering and paying for your food via the QR code. The venue has improved with additional area at the back for kids to play around, with a few outside games, which is a bonus for parents. Extra seating with umbrellas an additional benefit. Wirra Wirra Vineyards is well worth the visit. This is our 5th visit within the last 2 years. Interstate guests love it here. Well done Wirra Wirra!!

We enjoyed our visit to Wirra Wirra vineyards.
It was one of the best wine tastings we have experienced. The gentleman serving us really took the time to explain each wine in a lot of detail and was very informative.
The wine itself was very delicious. We couldn't help but leave with a bottle or two.
I would highly recommend doing a wine tasting if you are visiting the area.
