Heifer Station Wines

1034 The Escort Way, Orange NSW 2800

Wine tasting in a 100 year old shearing shed on the undulating slopes of Mt Canobolas. Cool climate, high altitude wines. With respect for the earth and a whole lot of altitude the fruit does the talking - that's the Heifer Station way. Enjoy cheese boards and the petting zoo or book a tour or private picnic.

10/10 rating from us! We had the most wonderful experience at Heifer station. We spent an afternoon by the fire, with a wine tasting and a delicious cheese platter. The place is beautiful and the service was great. Everyone was super friendly. We had chewy looking after us for the wine tasting and he was awesome and made our experience extra enjoyable :) Will definitely be going back next time we are in Orange and highly recommend!

Really warm and inviting cellar door experience. Was pleased that Zac accommodated us at short notice. Good amount of seating inside and out. We had a table outside so glad they had the open fire pits going to keep us warm. Tasting was $15 a head for 6 wines which is on the pricier end. Very good wines although not my preferred in the region. Kids had a great time in the petting zoo and sand pit. Happy with the complimentary Tesla charging stations too.

Loved Heifer Station, super friendly Chewy looked after us with a delicious cheese platter. Wonderful atmosphere inside and out. Loved the animals out back so good for people and kids to interact with them. Thought that truffles was a delight and would love to see her mated up with a tribe of her own. Fantastic grounds lovely wine and so much atmosphere thank you

We had a gorgeous afternoon here and James was very gracious and shared his story and knowledge of the wines with us. My toddler loved the animals, especially the chickens and it was such a lovely place to sit and relax with a couple of wines by the fire. I could have stayed another two hours easily, the most beautiful location and well set up cellar door I've had the pleasure of visiting in a long time! And the wines were delicious too! Thanks so much for a lovely afternoon 😊

Rude, Rude & Rude!!! We walked in to have a look around to see the grounds & wines, but were rudely greeted. We weren't "allowed" in as we didn't have a booking. We were advised that the grounds and farm were only for the enjoyment of their customers. Well we didn't even get the opportunity to be customers. Unfortunately for Heifer Station, we would have been more than happy to buy wines without taste testing, but weren't given the opportunity or offered a booking/way to book, rather embarrassed in front of other customers as the Owner said "excuse me" from across the room. Thankfully we are locals otherwise any tourists would have been sadly disappointed. There is definitely a way to approach potential customers, and unfortunately they didn't get it right. There wasn't a sign advising bookings were essential. If you enjoy having a browse with the potential of buying some wine, it might be a better option to look elsewhere. If you enjoy getting stopped abruptly, questioned on what your plans were coming into the winery and not being given the option to buy any wines, this is your place. We were so shocked at the "greeting" we received, we were speechless and we didn't even get to ask about the wine or how to go about purchasing some wine.
