Ortus Wines, meaning new beginnings, is the dream come to fruition over the span of 15 years for mother daughter duo, Julie and Paige Cooper.

Once a simple besser block machinery store, the building has been cleverly transformed into a warehouse style space with black-steel framed windows, bespoke crafted entry doors, polished concrete floors and Art Deco inspired light pendants - all oozing cool NY loft vibes. Outside, there are large open grass areas, and shady spots under the 100 year old gums to roll out a rug and savour our handcrafted range.

Our McLaren Vale range coming from our own family vineyard, including Limited Editions where as little as two barrels were made, and other regional gems selected from the best vineyards each vintage.

I randomly popped in yesterday and discovered some fantastic wines, including a 2016 reisling which was outstanding. It was recommended after I said I was not a huge white wine drinker. The lovely lady who served me was the winemaker and picked some perfect wines for my taste. I can't wait to come back with my friends and share the experience, what a great find!

Very welcoming. Been back here multiple times as it's our go to place. Paige the wine maker is amazing and knowledgeable. The wine is fantastic. You would be foolish to miss out this on place!!!!! Love it 😍🥰😍

First time visit this morning and many more to come, after meeting the fabulous Paige and tasting her wonderful wines. The 2016 Riesling was exceptional!
The cellar door is spacious and welcoming, with views over the gum trees and vineyards, where you can bring a picnic and enjoy the wines on offer.
We had great time! Congratulations Paige and her Mum for opening an exciting family run business.
