Rich in heritage and tradition, Katnook Estate is a James Halliday 5-star awarded winery located in Coonawarra in South Australia, one of Australia's finest wine regions. Established in 1867 by Scottish immigrant John Riddoch, Katnook Estate is one of the oldest existing wineries in the regions and its vineyards stretch over 155 hectares on the famous terra rossa soil strip that runs through Coonawarra.

Katnook produces a premium, iconic Odyssey Cabernet Sauvignon and Prodigy Shiraz, its flagship Katnook Estate range and the more contemporary Founder's Block range.

Cellar Door experiences include premium structured tastings, special events, regional festivals and tours. Whilst bookings are highly recommended, walk-ins are also welcome. Enjoy a hosted wine tasting in our Cellar Door or our lounge area with open fire in winter, or explore our site with heritage buildings and a 'terra rossa pit', profiling Coonawarra's famous soil.

Our Cellar Door won the Best tasting Experience in Coonawarra in the Australian Gourmet Traveller Wine - Cellar Door Awards 2019 and also won a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence 2019.

A beautiful estate, well set up to cater for both the experienced and inexperienced wine taster. A non-intrusive and memorable experience. Big shout out to our host Kathy - for making our afternoon a pleasure!

Stopped here while driving through The region. The wine was good and we ended up purchasing as well. However, wouldn't say we were welcomed with a smile. The lady seemed unfriendly and said there weren't seats for children. Basically wanted us to leave the minute we stepped in. Good wines- poor hospitality!

Loved the Sparkling White & Caledonean Red.
The cheese platter was amazing. Friendly staff & cozy warm tasting room.
Definitely recommend visiting.
