Bowen Estate is owned and run by the Bowen family. Established in 1972, the first vintage from Bowen Estate was in 1975. Tasting and cellar door sales facilities were opened to the public in 1977.

Our 33 hectares of vineyards are situated on beautiful Terra Rossa soil in Coonawarra. In the vineyard at Bowen Estate, all vines are individually pruned by hand to ensure each vine produces maximum quality. Hand pruning enables us to restrict the crop size, resulting in wines that are fuller in body and have greater depth of colour and longevity.

All Bowen Estate wines are made on site at Coonawarra, using only the estate's grapes. All the varietal wines are one hundred percent true to varietal.

One of the best Cabernet Sauvignon's in the country I reckon, and this year is no exception. Our crew bought 8 cartons all up and I would have given 5 stars except for the fact that as I now live in Queensland I have to have the wine posted - and this was the only winery of the 8 I visited that I had to pay postage (on the 2 cartons I purchased). Every other winery had free freight if you bought 1 carton. Our host was lovely and very knowledgeable.

They only had four wines on tasting, but each one of them was stunning. One of the best wineries we found in Coonawarra. Staff were really nice as well.

Excellent service. Let me tell you something! The lady I forgot her name. She was super friendly! My friends are into wines while I'm not so I don't care about the taste. Your friendliness makes me to come back again to bring my friends and buying more wines! Thank you for your hospitality 😊

Bowen had to be the most charming and welcoming of the Cellar Doors I experienced, a quaint tasting room that's small and cosy. Friendly hosts.

My pick was the 2018 Shiraz, there was 4 or 5 wines on tasting, a small selection but done well.

AMAZING wine all at under $30 a bottle (I would have paid at least $50!). A small, unassuming cellar door but with delicious wine inside. A small range but they do it expertly, we bought more wine here than at all the other Coonawarra wineries combined. Great service too!
