Relax in our tranquil garden with a cheese board and our hand selected wines by the glass, or immerse yourself in our history and sustainable practices with a guided tasting by one of our Mitchell family members in our 1890's cellar door.

Situated in the Clare Valley, South Australia, one and half hours' drive north of Adelaide.

Mitchell wines has been guided by three generations of passionate winemakers. From Peter McNicol Mitchell's modest beginnings in 1949, to Andrew and Jane's business nous and passion for winemaking that they have hand over to the next generation of Mitchell Wines, their three children, Hilary, Angus and Edwina.

Five for the service! Hilary was so warm and welcoming and had the most engaging and lovely smile! We really enjoyed our tasting today and appreciated that our doggos were allowed inside with us (as no one was eating) . Welcome relief from the cold. Nice wines too! Thanks Hilary!

Visited Mitchell as part of a small group tour heading for the Flinders Ranges. We tasted a total of 12 wines in a lovely tasting room and hosted by Edwina. She provided us with a great insight into the various wines, all of which were of very high quality. Our favourite was the 2012 McNichol Riesling. If you are looking for a small winery experience in the Clare valley, we could recommend Mitchell is worth a stop at.

Favorite winery of the day. Unbeatable attention and knowledge of wines. Loved the young and old Rieslings and superb Grenache.

Some divine intervention made us stop at Mitchell's on Easter Monday instead of our planned winery slightly further on. We had the most glorious experience. Caring family run winery staff going out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and had all that we needed. We enjoyed glasses of wine not previously tried and a very tasty cheese platter Will definitely return and recommend to family and friends.
