Loved Kangarilla Rd and Silent Noise wineries (both in the same place as father/son). We came into town late and Helen was very hospitable, explaining the area and the grapes to us. She recommended some lovely places for dinner and encouraged us to book quickly, which we were thankful we did. Dave the dog was the star of the show - greeted us at the door even! The wines were delicious and we enjoyed not being on a set list/time allocation. We didn't feel pressure to limit our tasting or purchase a bottle. We could try what we wanted and enjoyed Helen's recommendations. We purchased conservatively, it being our first winery in McLaren Vale, however can guarantee we will be back!
