Surrounded by Elderton's iconic vineyards, the Elderton Cellar Door is a grand 1918 classic gentleman's bungalow and the former Ashmead family home.
The stylish setting and stunning architecturally landscaped gardens lend themselves to enjoying a glass of wine accompanied by a local cheese plate or other tasty item from our seasonal "small tastes" menu.
You'll find our open fire alight during winter and our cool shady veranda the perfect retreat in summer.
Offering a range of wine tasting experiences designed to showcase our Estate grown wines, you can choose from a casual seated tasting, a wine and chocolate tasting or one of our more in-depth hosted experiences where you'll learn about the heritage of Elderton Wines in the comfort of one of our private tasting rooms.

We finished up a day of tastings here, and we're very comfy on leather lounges. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about their product but also about the regions other wineries and places to eat.

The wine we tasted were excellent, with great examples of Barossa staple Shiraz. Elderton Merlot was good for an often overlooked variety, and Golden Semillion enjoyed by my friends who like a sweet wine.

The winery has a really beautiful outlook and the staff were nice enough to let us eat our own lunch in the courtyard. Unfortunately, the wines weren't really what we typically enjoy. Their reds have quite strong tannins and you can taste the aftertaste. Meanwhile, the whites were quite acidic (I personally prefer whites that are fruitier). Our server didn't quite provide the detailed explanations of the wines and how they were produced that I experienced at comparable wineries so it was a bit disappointing the attention to detail wasn't there.

I don't know if I would come back - it was underwhelming after reading many of the reviews

Great winery with a large selection of wines. The homestead that has the cellar door is amazing! Go and check it out, you won't be disappointed 🥂

We concur with the wonderful things people have already said in their 5 star reviews. Knowledgeable, friendly staff, plus great wine, cheese platter was lovely, and the coffee was great too. We had the best experience at this winery compared to the others we visited in the Barossa. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our tasting at Elderton, amazing wines. The place is beautiful (would love to visit in winter so we could enjoy the fireplace). Extremely friendly and very knowledgeable, we learnt a lot. Would highly recommend visiting. We can't wait to enjoy one of the bottles we bought.
