Petersons Wines have been producing quality wines for wine lovers since 1981. Not much has changed since then - except they now produce a larger range of award winning wines.

The original planting of ten acres of Semillon was planted at Mount View in 1971 with the intention of supplying the nearby McWilliams Mount Pleasant Winery with grapes.

Over the next few years this was expanded to forty acres and they included other grape varieties: Chardonnay; Viognier; Verdelho, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Back Block Shiraz which is their most famous Hunter Valley wine.

The Hunter Valley is where their only Winemaking facility is located. Chief Winemaker, Gary Reed, has been with them since their first Vintage in 1981. Assistant Winemaker, Michael Hudson calls brother to Jamie - their Vineyard Manager in Mudgee. Jamie has been working with them for almost 25 years.

One of my favourite wineries anywhere in Australia, with the mount view cellar door experiences I have had for many years a big reason. Great to taste some new things, hear some stories and stock up ! Thank you

As Petersons wine club members, my wife and I were eligible to take advantage of a private wine tasting offer in the cellar at Petersons Mount View, and what an amazing experience it was. We were treated like royalty by the lovely Marie who managed to attend to us, as well as serve a constant flow of customers at the cellar door out front without missing a beat. She was so informative, knowledgeable and passionate about the entire range of Petersons wines, all of which were of an incredibly high standard. I have visited hundreds of cellar doors and tasted thousands of wines throughout Australia, and I would have to say that Petersons is up there with the very best in terms of quality and value for money. So, if you plan on visiting the Hunter Valley region anytime in the future, I highly recommend a visit to either Petersons Mount View, Broke Road or Petersons House - a brilliant experience.

We visited the wine cellar on Monday morning and somehow spent almost 3 hours there. The lady - whom we forgot to ask her name, sorry!! - was the best! The wine was delicious (especially the sparkling Shiraz) and the conversation just kept flowing. Thank you so much, the highlight is our trip!
