Laughing Jack is a small family owned and operated winery, established in 1999 by Winemaker Shawn Kalleske and his family.

Producing low volume and high quality premium wines from estate grown fruit. The Kalleske's have long been part of the Barossa Valley landscape dating back to 1855. The family vineyards stretch from Moppa and Greenock to Marananga on Seppeltsfield Road.

Laughing Jack wines are made using traditional methods such as open top fermentation and the basket press. They are not fined or filtered deeming them vegan friendly.

Enjoy an intimate tasting in the new Cellar Door on the corner of Stonewell and Seppeltsfield Roads in picturesque Marananga. Your tasting will be a wine focused experience. Showcasing the unique diversity of the family estate wines sourced only from family properties and made onsite. They offer personalized tastings for small groups up 6 people. One of their passionate family members will guide you through a structured tasting of the current releases.

Cellar Door is open every Friday & Saturday between 10am - 4pm. They are a low capacity venue so bookings are recommended (but not essential).

We toured several gorgeous wineries today but our pick of the day was definitely "Laughing Jack". We sampled some delicious wines that were our favourites for the day. Briony had us enthralled with the stories of the history of the region and conveyed Shawn's passion for his work in such a beautiful and respectful way. The cellar door is so well done too. Every aspect has been thought out and adds to the overall experience. It showcases the wine perfectly. Briony and Shawn clearly have amazing knowledge, passion, pride and respect for what they do and also for their customers. It was such a privilege to get an insight into that today and now we have the fun job of deciding which delicious wines will be coming back to Melbourne.

Great wines made by great people.
Laughing Jack has a broad varietal range, at different price points. You can't go wrong with any of them, some to share with mates at the barbie, and others to jealously guard to enjoy on those special occasions. I have enjoyed the wines over many years now, and they are near, if not at the top, of my favourites.
I haven't yet had the pleasure to visit the new cellar door, but it will be hard pressed to top the informal tastings conducted by Shawn in the "big shed", surrounded by wine barrels with great insights and lots of laughs, true to the name.

Laughing Jack Wines is a must visit Barossa Valley destination. A tour of the state of the art winery is a hugely rewarding and informative experience to be followed up with tasting the brilliant range at the cellar door.

Drop in, stay a while and sample and buy some of the most luscious wines from the Barossa Valley.

What a fabulous find this family owned winery is. Beautifully balanced well structured estate grown red wines. Wonderful chilled wines and the cellar door is gorgeous with fantastic views across the Barossa Valley. I had a wonderful hostess Briony who talked me through the wines.
