Want a wine tasting? Take a book. A long one. "War and Peace". And some food and a sleeping bag. And hope you like your wine "smoked".
We arrived at 1:20. Two other cars in the car park. Walked in and were informed they could "see us" in 15 minutes or so - for a $10 pp tasting which we were told would take only 30 minutes. So we stood there in the lobby... nowhere to sit... nothing to look at. I don't know why we didn't leave right then and there. Should have. Our 15-minute wait turned into 20 - and we were finally offered an uncomfortable seat at a tasting table.
A young man came over and introduced himself - obviously not experienced... halfway through his introduction an older man took over. The first wine was poured for us to taste and our server departed to chat with 2 other couples who also were up for tasting. At the 50-minute mark in this 30-minute tasting experience, having tasted 4 of the 5 wines, we got up and walked out. Here I should probably mention there were two other couples being served and no other customers - and nobody noticed we were leaving. Dreadful service and, frankly, the wines served were inferior - 3 of the 4 clearly made from smoke-affected grapes.
