This place is really quite nice. If you are looking for an intimate or romantic dinner or lunch, would recommend. The wines are also very nice.

My hesitation from giving 5 stars, is due to a staff member blowing up over some children in our family. Effectively saying they couldn't be here, needed to sit completely still and quiet.

This incident was quite disappointing given how much we had just spent on lunch.

Thankfully, Christian, the site manager was able to amend the situation and am very pleased with his attitude and service. He was a standout.

Absolutely fantastic. Been here a few times now and I think it's getting better every time.

Celebrating a birthday and decided to do something special. We chose Boydells Restaurant in Morpeth as we'd heard it was great. The way it's built is beautiful and well done however we were disappointed in the meal. The cauliflower fritters had no flavour to speak of and the lamb shoulder roast was disappointing. The waiter Rodney was lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The food was a definite let down and we wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Wine was amazing as usual, the wait for the wine order was less than amazing very poor wait on the under cooked main meal was 45 minutes no wine no food adds up to extremely unsatisfied customers, there was plenty of staff to cover the floor as they attended to the couple at table next to ours constantly asking if the would like wine top ups when there glasses were still full of red wine then walked away ignoring our empty glasses
I was very excited for the Boydells restaurant experience but it is one place I would not recommend to friends / family the staff there need to lift their game in a big way

My husband and I dined at Boydells last night for the first time and will definitely be going back. We found the menu full of variety. The wine and the food were professionally served. All dishes and wines were first class. The atmosphere was pleasing and the staff, from the Maitre D down ( I think it was Bill, or was it Ben) were exceptional. Always attentive. We didn't have to wait for even the smallest task,l like having our water glasses refilled.
