Wineriesnear Me

We went to the winery and we're there at 1pm on Sunday and it was closed. Suggest you ring them before you drive all the way out there, it was a shame because their Chardonnay is great.

We had some friends for dinner last night and I served some local wine I have been saving for a special occasion. The 2005 Antcliff Chase Riesling served to accompany duck pate was a great match, the aged riesling had a spicy, oaky taste and the fruit was still very evident.

The next was a 2008 Lagrein, an unusual grape but superb rich and powerful red, full of fruit and a lovely balance of acid and tannin.
